How purity messages impact your current sex life

We've spent the last few weeks discussing what purity culture is and how the messages differ from comprehensive sex education.  But none of that is as important as how those messages actually impact your sex life today.  So let's jump right in.

I've spent a lot of time talking to women over the last 10 years that I have been a sex educator.  It is a great honor and privilege to be able to hold these women's deepest thoughts about sex.  As I listened, it occurred to me that there were some themes emerging that could tie back to their past history with purity culture messages.  I started digging more, studied Religious Trauma Syndrome and began to make some important connections.  Through my listening years, here are the associations I have found between purity culture messages and current sexual thoughts and behaviors.
