What losses. First Dolly, then Gloria. I saw this post today from @carakovacscoaching and it really hit home for me.
Cultural change requires different types of women doing different types of work. This has always been the case and will always be the case. I find this so lovely and hopeful, because I find a lot of our culture wants us to fit squarely into a singular box. (This surprises zero people.) But that's not actually what is helpful in your advocacy work. Your own particular brand of advocacy will look different than mine. And mine will look different than it did ten years ago (if I'm doing life well and asking enough questions).
Dolly and Gloria remind us that our biggest impact to the world comes when we embrace our weird, intelligent, particular selves. And go big with it.
Rest in power ladies. You've served us well.
This is so random and brings me joy. I listen to you tube music on my computer when I'm working and I just found this artist who has beautiful whimsical music and art, all created by a human. I'm literally listening to it as I write. Thought I'd just share because I love it.
