Are You Doing Sex Like a Straight-A Student?

So many of us were trained to be good students and good Christian girls. We followed rules, policed ourselves and were rewarded for being quiet, polite, and prepared.

Then we grew up and tried to apply that same approach to sex.  The result is detrimental.

We read the articles. We took the quizzes. We freak out when our partners ask us what we want because there isn't a right answer.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. I work with so many women and couples who were raised in environments where sex wasn’t talked about in terms of joy or exploration. It was about doing it “right.” It was about the right time and then it was about pleasing others, not receiving pleasure.

But here’s the thing: sex isn’t school and you don’t get extra credit for ignoring your body.

There’s no failing grade if you need a break, or don’t feel ready, or want something different than what your partner wants.

In my one-on-one sessions, we start peeling away the layers of sexual perfectionism. We talk about what you actually want, how to feel safe enough to want it, and how to connect to your body without pressure or performance.

You can stop grading yourself because there’s nothing to prove. Pleasure isn’t a test. It's an experience.

If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to meet you. You can schedule a session here. Bring your questions, your hesitations, your ooh so responsible self. I promise there will be no pop quizzes.

Rooting for you!

Celeste
