Things I don't care about....a love letter to the things that don't matter

I do not care if your laundry is piled to the ceiling and I have to dig a path to get to your couch.  I'll forge a way like a great adventurer.

I do not care if your car is from the 80's and hasn't been washed or cleaned since you bought it.  I'll scootch over the receipts and Taco Bell wrappers and buckle in.

Have a kid losing their absolute shit in the grocery store?  No problem.  Doesn't bother me. If I look over, it is only to see if I might be helpful.

I'm genuinely unbothered.

What I do care about is you.  I am bothered when you are bothered.  I care about how you are feeling, how you are managing and what support you might need.

I care about your big dreams and your smaller ones too.  I am concerned that you are not getting enough rest and recovery.  I'm genuinely watchful of your happiness and pleasure.

This is what I think about.  This is what I actually care about

This week, I'd love to challenge you to make a list of things you don't care about.  How wonderful it is to see what needs zero of your attention and emotional labor!  It leaves more room for the rest of what matters.

I'm rooting for you!
