What brings you pleasure?

PLEASURE IS WORTH THE TIME

On this wonderful Friday, I’m here to remind you that pleasure is healing and necessary. Try this. Take just two minutes and get curious about the things that bring you pleasure.

Don't overthink this one. I'll start:

- the smell of horses mane

- coffee in the morning alone

- looking at the light through the leaves of a tree
- blankets

- seeing someone win at something

- my mom's laugh

- stars

- eating a sandwich after swimming in the ocean

- the smell of magazines

- my dog looking up at me

- watching my hermit crabs explore their crabitat

- when my partner puts his arm around my shoulders and pulls me to his side

- cheese enchiladas

Pleasure is not optional. It isn't superfluous. It is what makes us human and eager and ultimately helps us navigate the hard. So, write your 2 minute list. What brings you pleasure?

In service to your pleasure,

Celeste

P.S.

If you want some regular pleasure hits, check out this podcast called Happiness Spells. I found it a few years ago when I was really struggling with anxiety. I found it very helpful.

SPOTLIGHT

I've been in Austin this week with my family, so I thought I would share with you a local organization that helps amplify Black artistic voices. Black Art Matters supports Black Austin creatives by funding their projects trhough the Austin Creative Alliance. Check out their artist roster...one of my favorite being Lisa B. Thompson's "The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body."
