What we do in the dark can free us.
The opportunity of night
On Dec 21, the longest night of the year, my family gathered for a private star party at the Thompsen Observatory. Jerry the volunteer manager of the Observatory, also known as my delightful dad, cranked up the telescopes just for us on this sacred longest night.
As we took turns peering at Saturn, Andromeda and the moon's giant craters, I started to think of what the darkness brings us. In the dark, we are forced to rely on our other senses. What was obvious in sight now becomes shadowy and unknown. I often recommend that clients who are bombarded with distracting thoughts during sex, wear a blindfold. This helps you anchor into your other senses, especially touch. When you are inside your senses, your sensuality, you can be more present to pleasure.
The inky cover of night does not give us clarity, but rather a world of opaque choices. Nothing clear, nothing guaranteed. Just this moment.
The darkness brings us opportunity. A moment to explore and wander under the cover of night. With our lovers in the dark, we can be more true, more wild, more sensual.
So, how does the darkness help you deepen your sensuality?
With love in the darkness,
Celeste
