Want to read my quarantine journal?
Here is a little peek into our last couple of weeks, sheltering at home.
Quarantine Log Day 1:
Found a huge bin of crafts that the twins have never started. Should last through quarantine.
Quarantine Log Day 2:
We have completed all the crafts. My house is full of delicately and sentimentally constructed crap that I now have to keep to infinity and beyond.
Quarantine Log Day 5:
I felt scared and lonely sending Nate off to work at the ER this morning. Good thing Zoe distracted me by telling me she was disappointed that she missed Muffins with Mom at school. So sweet. I told her it was sad, but we had been together all day every day, so maybe that could make up for it? She looked confused and then explained that she wasn't missing me, she was missing the muffins.
Quarantine Log Day 7:
Spent the night in the backyard tent with the girls. The stars reminded me that we are strong, steady and bright and we can do hard things. Like sleep on the ground at age 38.
Quarantine Log Day 8:
Zoe tells me today that she likes to brush her teeth with warm water because it feels relaxing to her gums. I find this both intriguing and disgusting.
Quarantine Log Day 10:
Today we began Home School. I immediately regret sending the children to a Spanish Immersion school, as all of their work is in Spanish. I do not speak this language, but I'm pretty sure this is "no bueno." I use the powers of delegation to assign Alexa the role of main teacher in our Home School. I have assigned myself the role of office staff, as I am proficient at printing PDFs worksheets.
Quarantine Log Day 11:
Without access to the Sewing Grandparent, I was forced to do emergency surgery on three stuffed animal babies, on my own. It was cowboy medicine, but we got it done, no thanks to the actual physician who lives in this house who simply yelled from the kitchen, "You got this honey! Remember, first do no harm!" Happy to report, all three patients made it through and have zero holes.
Quarantine Log Day 12:
Today I had a parent- teacher conference with Alexa. Was lovely to have some human interaction for a change.
Quarantine Log Day 15:
Brushing my teeth with warm water. I love spa days!
SENDING YOU LOVE AND WARMTH IN THE TIME OF QUARANTINE,
Celeste
