A gentler way to care for your body image

Hi friend,

Sometimes body image conversations feel heavy. We are surrounded by unrealistic expectations and the pressure to look a certain way. It can feel like the only options are to either love every part of ourselves right now or keep fighting an uphill battle. But there is another path.

In public health we call it harm reduction. It means that instead of demanding perfection or pretending the problem doesn’t exist, we focus on reducing harm in realistic, compassionate ways. Applied to body image, harm reduction looks like this:

  • Noticing a negative body thought and choosing to soften it, rather than letting it spiral

  • Allowing yourself to dress in a way that feels comfortable instead of punishing

  • Offering compassion to the parts of you that feel insecure, rather than shaming them

It is not about instant body love. It is about moving the needle toward gentleness and dignity, one step at a time.

This month in Pleasure Club, we are diving into body image together. Our October book is A Showgirl’s Rules for Falling in Love and our skills workshop will explore self objectification and how to manage those intrusive negative thoughts. You are not alone in this work, and you deserve a space that supports you with honesty and education.

If you have been waiting for a sign, this is it. Join us in Pleasure Club for October and give yourself the gift of a kinder relationship with your body and pleasure.
